Up the hill a ways

March 6, 2016

Mount Washington is only an hour and a bit north of Nanaimo, and we went there to play in the snow for a few days.  This is the view I painted while my grandbaby was sleeping (and I was "babysitting").

I feel "right" amongst mountains; safe, protected, capable of anything.  It's like the hills are cradling and holding me.  I'm sure I must have lived in Nepal in a previous life, they always take me to a good place.

The youngsters all skied, boarded, made a snow cave, snow men, snow angels and cavorted like puppies.  At home again I love watching Benji frolic, leaping snowbanks and disappearing in a shower of whiter powder only to scamper up and repeat the process like a spring lamb in the warmth of the sun.  Life is good.
